HER STORY
The one and only
Barr.(Mrs) Victoria Christopher Umoren (née Anwana) BA (French), LLB (Hons), MILD was one of one.
A most determined woman, when she sets goals, she achieves them. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in French, a master’s degree in international law and diplomacy, was called to the bar as a solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, worked her way up the ranks to becoming a Director in the Nigerian Civil Service and at the time of her passing was already actively enrolled and pursuing her doctorate degree. She believed in the dignity in labor and applied herself to provide an excellent quality of life for herself and her family. The legacy of her career was so vast, spanning across international diplomacy and regional trade negotiations.
Within five minutes of meeting Victoria, you would know that she was mother to four children- Teresa, Immanuel, Christopher and Anthony. She was a devoted and doting mother who was invested in the lives of her children, not just as a parent but as a friend and confidant. She rose them up in the way of the Lord, as she herself was an active member of the Catholic Women’s Organization.
Victoria was delightful as a friend; easy going, no airs, jovial and a joy to be around. To know Victoria is to know her unique laugh. You know the laugh. We will miss that laugh. We will miss her presence. We will honor her life by serving and loving God, loving those around us and loving ourselves enough to ensure that we live well.
We celebrate a woman who dared to demand more from life, until the very end. We will miss her love, her joie de vivre, her spirit of excellence, her inimitable sense of style, and her unmatched taste level. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen. Rest in perfect peace, Barr. (Mrs.) Victoria Umoren, née Anwana.
